On the 21^st of May a cycle of lectures about leukaemia started in Kodály Zoltán Ének-zenei music school in Szolnok, Hungary. Sessions for 8 to 9 year old children were guided by oncology doctors and parents who were touched by this illness in their own families. Documentary film “Before Flying Back to the Earth” by A. Matelis also became a part of the educational programme where Hungarian children got really empathic for ill Lithuanians that they saw on a screen.

 

After a week they decided to show their solidarity and friendship to Lithuanian children at oncology centre in Vilnius by making them toys from natural material, like: maize, wooden spoons, cotton and traditionally coloured patches.

 

Cinema Odyssey of Kindness 2009 was brought to Szolnok, Hungary on the initiative of archaeologist and musician Raimondo Gaviano who described his motivation by saying: “there is so little that we can do, though our small jobs could be very meaningful to those, who at some point succeeded less”.
